What phone system does it work with?

An all-in-one Android video collaboration bar. It runs as a native Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android appliance in the Teams Edition, and Yealink publishes a Zoom Rooms edition. The two editions share the same hardware — Yealink documents platform switching on firmware 133.310.0.25 or later via a factory reset and platform selection at initialisation — but the ordering codes differ by what’s bundled with the bar, so confirm the SKU at quote stage.

THE LICENCE QUESTION EVERY BUYER MISSES. Microsoft Teams Rooms is licensed per ROOM DEVICE, not per user — a two-person huddle space and a thirty-seat boardroom each need exactly one licence. Two separate things are required for every room: a resource account (an Exchange Online mailbox that holds the room’s calendar) AND a device licence. Teams Rooms Basic is free but covers a maximum of 25 rooms per tenant; beyond that, every additional device needs a Teams Rooms Pro licence regardless of which features you actually want. Pro lists at roughly USD $40 per room per month.

NOTE: Microsoft’s April 2026 Teams licensing update moved several previously premium capabilities into Teams core, so any quote or comparison written before that date should be re-checked against current Microsoft pricing.

Single-device install: camera, microphones, speakers and the room compute are all in the bar, so a room needs a display, a data point and power rather than a separate PC. Powered by an external Yealink adapter (AC 100–240V input, DC 48V/0.7A output; typical draw 15W, 16W max) — the bar itself is not PoE-powered. Rear connections are 1 x Gigabit Ethernet, 1 x Yealink extension port (RJ-45), 2 x USB 2.0, 3.5mm line-in and line-out, HDMI out for up to two displays, plus power, security lock and reset. Pairs with the Yealink CTP18 touch console for in-room call control; the newer A40 and A50 use the CTP25 instead.

GENERATION NOTE: The A30 is an older platform than the A40 and A50, and its room-size positioning overlaps both, so don’t read the model numbers as a size ladder. Microsoft MDEP compatibility is documented for the A40 and A50 but not for the A30.

Medium meeting rooms — Yealink’s own positioning, with the A30 Teams Rooms page citing 10 to 15 people and distributors noting up to 15 once a VCM36 wireless mic is added. Its distinguishing feature against the newer bars is the 10x hybrid zoom on the optical camera, which helps in a long room where a fixed wide lens would leave distant participants small in frame. Where a customer already runs A30s, adding more keeps the estate consistent, which has real value in support terms.

In the box: MeetingBar A30 endpoint, 3m Ethernet cable, 2 x 1.8m HDMI cables, mounting bracket and accessories, power adapter and quick start guide. The controller varies by SKU — A30-010 ships with the VCR11 remote, A30-020 with the CTP18 touch panel, A30-025 with the CTP18 and WPP30. A display is NOT included. Supplied, installed and supported in Australia by Com2 Communications (1300 887 495). The supplied adapter is a universal-input unit (AC 100–240V, DC 48V/0.7A output); what matters for AU supply is that the pack ships with an AU/NZ plug and carries the RCM mark. Yealink’s own A30 datasheet lists REACH and CCC compliance only, so on a multi-room rollout, check that the AU pack is supplied and not a grey import with a US or EU adapter. NETWORK AND ROOM READINESS: A Teams Room needs a data point at the display position, adequate bandwidth and QoS, and — for wireless content sharing — reliable Wi-Fi. Note that the WPP30 and VCM36-W connect to the bar over its wireless hotspot, which cannot run at the same time as Wi-Fi, so those accessories require the A30 on a wired network.

Against the A40: the A40 is the newer small-to-medium bar (Yealink sizes it 5–12 people) with dual 48MP stitched lenses, Android 13, MDEP compatibility and direct CTP25 connection. Its 8 MEMS array and 6-metre pickup match the A30’s, so the gain is in the camera and the platform, not the audio.

Against the A50: the A50 is the current premium medium-to-large bar (7–15 people) with a triple 50MP camera system, a 16 MEMS array with 10-metre pickup, four speakers, support for three expansion microphones, a Qualcomm 8550 processor and MDEP compatibility. Specify the A30 for hybrid zoom reach in a long room or for consistency with an existing estate; otherwise, the newer bars are the better long-term buy, particularly where MDEP matters.
