The Yealink MeetingBar A50 is an all-in-one video bar built for medium to large meeting spaces. It uses three cameras with 50MP resolution each. One handles wide-angle shots, while the other two zoom in for telephoto views. It has 4K video quality with AI features that do the work automatically. The IntelliFocus tracks speakers, auto-framing adjusts to the room, and the video fence keeps the focus where you want it.

The audio comes from 4 speakers and 16 MEMS microphones that reach 10 metres, where noise reduction keeps conversations clear even in busy rooms. Add up to 3 more microphones for extra coverage. What phone system does it work with?

Yealink’s current premium all-in-one Android collaboration bar, for medium-to-large rooms. It supports native Microsoft Teams Rooms, native Zoom Rooms and a wired General (BYOD) mode, so a visiting laptop can use the bar as a USB camera, microphone and speaker for any third-party platform. It is also the bar used inside the MVC S50 Windows Teams Rooms bundle, where it runs in USB mode instead — the same hardware serving two different deployment models.

THE LICENCE QUESTION EVERY BUYER MISSES. Microsoft Teams Rooms is licensed per ROOM DEVICE, not per user — a two-person huddle space and a thirty-seat boardroom each need exactly one licence. Two separate things are required for every room: a resource account (an Exchange Online mailbox that holds the room’s calendar) AND a device licence. Teams Rooms Basic is free but covers a maximum of 25 rooms per tenant; beyond that, every additional device needs a Teams Rooms Pro licence regardless of which features you actually want. Pro lists at roughly USD $40 per room per month. Teams Rooms Basic also cannot license Teams Panels, and dual-screen support is a Pro feature — relevant here, because the A50 has two HDMI outputs.

NOTE: Microsoft’s 1 April 2026 licensing update moved several Teams Premium capabilities — town halls, webinars, eCDN and immersive events — into Teams Enterprise, and renamed the Teams Shared Devices licence to Teams Shared Space. Teams Rooms Basic and Pro were not changed by that update.

All-in-one design: three cameras, microphone array, speakers and compute in one bar. Compatible with Microsoft’s MDEP, which improves security posture and deployment tooling and, along with the A40, is the reason to prefer the current bars over the older A30 for a new estate. Connections are two HDMI outputs, Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0 Type-A and Type-B, USB 2.0 Type-C, 3.5mm line-in and line-out, two Yealink VCH (RJ45) ports for wired expansion microphones, plus power, security lock and reset. The CTP25 touch console connects directly to the bar, so the room only has to be signed in once. When connected to an MCore 4 mini-PC by USB it automatically enters USB mode on first power-on, converting it from a standalone Android appliance into the camera and audio front end of a Windows Teams Room.

Triple 50-megapixel camera system — one wide-angle lens plus two telephoto lenses — with the wide lens covering 98 degrees horizontally and 81 degrees vertically, the telephoto lenses at 41.6 by 31.8 degrees, and 4K video. Qualcomm 8550 processor delivering roughly 50 percent more CPU performance and over ten times the AI processing of the previous generation*, with 48 TOPS of on-device AI compute.* AI features: IntelliFocus, Video Fence, Auto Framing, Speaker Tracking and people counting, plus Picture-in-Picture. A 16-microphone MEMS array with 10-metre pickup and four built-in 5W speakers, with AI-enhanced noise cancellation and reverberation suppression, and support for up to three optional wired expansion microphones. Intelligent full-duplex audio. Automatic physical privacy shutter that closes when the meeting ends. Runs Android 13.

Premium medium-to-large rooms — boardrooms, client-facing meeting rooms and any space where the video quality reflects on the organisation. Yealink sizes it at 7 to 15 people. The two telephoto lenses are what let a person at the far end of a long table appear at a usable resolution rather than as a soft digital crop. The 10-metre voice pickup is the other half of that argument: it is what makes the far end of a long room work for audio as well as video. Also the right specification where the customer intends to use Teams AI features seriously, given the processor headroom.

Collaboration bar, power adapter, wall-mount bracket and cables, plus console or remote depending on the bundle — the CTP25 touch console ships with its own PD power adapter and desktop stand. A display is NOT included. Expansion microphones are also sold separately. Supplied, installed and supported in Australia by Com2 Communications (1300 887 495). The bar carries a two-year hardware warranty, as does the CTP25 console. Power adapters supplied for the Australian market ship with an AU plug and carry the RCM mark; on a multi-room rollout, check that the AU pack is supplied and not a grey import with a US or EU adapter. Nothing stated here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

NETWORK AND ROOM READINESS: a Teams Room needs a data point at the display position, adequate bandwidth and QoS, and — for wireless content sharing — reliable Wi-Fi. The most common cause of a disappointing Teams Room is the room, not the hardware.

Against the A40: three 50MP lenses instead of two 48MP, a substantially more capable processor, a 16-microphone array with 10-metre pickup against the A40’s 8 microphones and 6 metres, four built-in speakers against two, and support for three expansion microphones rather than two. IntelliFocus, Video Fence and MDEP are on both bars, so the decision comes down to room depth, audio coverage and AI headroom rather than feature availability.

Against the MVC S50: the MVC S50 is this same bar supplied as a complete Windows Teams Rooms bundle with an MCore 4 mini-PC, MTouch Plus console and RoomSensor. Choose the standalone A50 for an Android appliance room; choose the MVC S50 where the customer’s IT standard is Windows.
